Michael Schumacher’s son takes up single-seater racing
After spending several seasons in karting, Mick Schumacher, the son of the seven-time Formula 1 World Champion, will make his single-seater debut this season in Formula 4.
Last year, Mick Schumacher won several runner-up titles in karting. After a successful series of tests, the Dutch team Van Amersfoort decided to sign the young 15-year-old German.
In recent years, it has become a tradition for us to evaluate the best young talents from the German karting championship in our simulator, explains Van Amersfoort. Mick spent a full day in our simulator in the Netherlands, and then we evaluated him on the track in Valencia. We have now signed an agreement with him to race in ADAC Formula 4.
Last year, Frits van Amersfoort had brilliantly launched Max Verstappen in Formula 3.
