Fernando Alonso, discharged from the hospital, is replaced by Kevin Magnussen in Barcelona
Following his accident during the initial Barcelona tests last Sunday, Fernando Alonso has been released from the hospital but will be replaced by Kevin Magnussen for the four days of testing from February 26 to March 1.

After his accident during the tests in Barcelona held at the end of last week, Fernando Alonso will not take part in the last test session for McLaren. The British team will have Kevin Magnussen, test and reserve driver in 2015 and a starter in 2014, take the wheel.
Three days after being hospitalized following an accident last Sunday, at the exit of turn 3 of the Barcelona circuit, Alonso has been discharged from the hospital but must withdraw from the final days of winter testing. He has returned to his family’s home in Spain to continue resting and recovering, according to a McLaren statement released today. As a result, he will not participate in the final pre-season tests.
Kevin Magnussen will therefore take the wheel of the McLaren MP4-30 with a Honda engine, still in the learning and development phase. These beginnings are hampered by issues related to the hybrid unit of the Japanese engine manufacturer, which is making its big return to the discipline, a year after the introduction of complex turbo hybrid technology.
McLaren’s program is not yet known in detail, except that Jenson Button will be at the forefront starting this Thursday.
