Pilots soon restricted to a single helmet design per season?
According to the British press, the FIA could require drivers to use only one helmet design per season starting this year, even if the measure has not yet been officially approved.

Formula 1 drivers will no longer be allowed to change their helmet design during the season with the introduction of new regulatory measures this year, as announced by Autosport. According to the British publication, this decision was made to enhance the interest in the sport.
Some drivers have indeed taken advantage of various occasions to change the design of their helmet in recent years, with Sebastian Vettel at the forefront, but this will no longer be the case. Drivers will have to maintain a single helmet design for the entire season, after having to choose a number for their career at the beginning of last year.
According to the British magazine, the International Automobile Federation (FIA) and Bernie Ecclestone – head of the Formula One Group – have agreed to establish this limit of one helmet design per driver per season, but this measure still needs to be approved before being officially included in the 2015 regulations.
The objective of this measure is notably to make it easier for spectators and viewers to identify the drivers on the various circuits of the calendar.
