Ferrari ready to supply its 2014 engines to Manor
On the sidelines of the Barcelona tests, Ferrari announced that it agreed to supply Manor with engines from the previous season.

Barely out of the judicial administration it had been under since October 2014, Manor continues its journey towards the 2015 grid as Ferrari announced early this afternoon that an agreement had been reached between the two parties for the supply of 2014 hybrid turbo V6 engines.
The Italian engine manufacturer was already supplying these hybrid units to the Marussia team last season but due to financial difficulties, the invoice had not been paid and Ferrari remained one of the main creditors.
« We told them yesterday that we were going to provide them with 2014 engines, » explained Maurizio Arrivabene, the director of Scuderia Ferrari, to the press in the Barcelona paddock. There remains a significant legal ambiguity: the supply of old engines is theoretically prohibited by the F1 sporting regulations. As soon as the 2015 engine homologation takes place, Manor should logically not have an older version because only one engine can be homologated per season (2015 Sporting Regulations, appendix 4, article 2).
On the chassis side, after the Strategic Group’s refusal to allow Manor to race in 2015 with a 2014 car, the team continues to work on a modified version of the car that would meet regulatory requirements. It could, according to *Autosport*, be ready for Melbourne. In any case, the goal would be to switch to a 2015 single-seater during the season. However, the commercial agreements allow missing three races, and the deadline to receive the bonus related to the ninth place in the constructors’ standings would be the Bahrain Grand Prix.
