Barcelona Tests I – Day 2 (morning): Ricciardo Edges Out Räikkönen by a Narrow Margin
Daniel Ricciardo was the fastest this morning in Barcelona for the second day of the first testing session held in Catalonia. The Red Bull driver was 10 thousandths ahead of Kimi Räikkönen's Ferrari. Following them are Perez, Rosberg, and Alonso for the top 5.

Daniel Ricciardo finished the morning on top in Barcelona today, even though he was the cause of the only red flag in this first part of the day shortly after the start of the session. The Australian narrowly leads Kimi Räikkönen in his Ferrari, followed by Sergio Perez in a modified Force India VJM07.
The morning was therefore almost unaffected by the problems of the various drivers, and this particularly benefited Jolyon Palmer, who was making his debut with the E23 Hybrid. The Briton was able to cover 31 laps, conducting aerodynamic tests to gather as much data as possible.
On the track attendance front, Nico Rosberg and his Mercedes lead with 66 laps covered, just ahead of Daniel Ricciardo (Red Bull) who completed 63 laps, followed by Marcus Ericsson who managed 58 laps in his Sauber C34. Fernando Alonso was the least active this morning with 28 laps covered in the McLaren-Honda.
Time-wise, it’s difficult to draw conclusions as the gaps are significant, with each driver and team currently carrying out their own testing program.
