Hirohide Hamashima, the head of tire performance at Scuderia Ferrari, will leave the Italian team at the end of the year as part of the current reorganization within the Italian team.

The Japanese engineer was recruited by Ferrari in 2012, after holding the position of head of tire development at Bridgestone, thus managing the Japanese firm’s involvement in F1 between 1997 and 2010 – notably alongside the Maranello team.

After Alonso’s departure and Vettel’s arrival following a disappointing season, without a single victory which hasn’t happened since 1993, which saw Ferrari finish in 4th place in the Constructors’ Championship – something that hadn’t happened since 2009, another year marked by changes in technical regulations -, the Prancing Horse brand has decided to undergo a thorough reorganization.
