Graham Watson is the new sporting director of Toro Rosso
Graham Watson has been officially appointed by Toro Rosso as the sporting director, a position previously held by Steve Nielsen who left the Italian team at the beginning of the week.

The Toro Rosso team announced earlier this week the departure of Steve Nielsen, who had been serving as sporting director for two years. Although the reasons for his departure were not announced at the same time, the future of the Briton quickly became clear when he was officially named to the same role with the Williams F1 team.
To replace Nielsen, the Italian team decided to promote Graham Watson to the role left vacant, even though Watson doesn’t have much experience with the Faenza team. In fact, he only joined Scuderia Toro Rosso in September of this year, following his departure from the Caterham F1 team, which was facing financial difficulties.
Watson, however, has extensive experience in F1 as he began his career at the pinnacle of motorsport almost 20 years ago, in 1996 to be exact, with the Benetton team.
