Marciello and Räikkönen at the wheel of the Ferrari during the Abu Dhabi tests
Ferrari will field Rafaelle Marciello, one of the members of its Young Driver Academy, during the private tests held in Abu Dhabi this week. Kimi Räikkönen will also take part in these two days.
Rafaelle Marciello will make his debut at the wheel of a Formula 1 car during private testing this week in Abu Dhabi.
The 19-year-old Italian, a member of the Scuderia’s Young Driver Academy, raced this season in GP2 with the Spanish team Racing Engineering. He finished in 8th place, securing a victory during the first race of the Spa-Francorchamps weekend.
« I can’t wait to get out of the garage in the F14-T and I think it will be a really special feeling, » he said, as reported by Autosport.
Marciello will team up, for these tests taking place this Tuesday and Wednesday, with Kimi Räikkönen. Sebastian Vettel had at one point hoped to make his debut in red during these private tests, but Red Bull ultimately rejected this request.
