Caterham announced this Friday, November 14, that it would be present in Abu Dhabi, a few weeks after entering administration, which caused it to miss the US and Brazilian GPs, and a few days after launching a seemingly successful crowdfunding campaign, despite not meeting the goals on time.

As a result, and while Marcus Ericsson has officially ended his collaboration with the Leafield team, two seats are available, one of which appears to have already been offered to… André Lotterer.

The German endurance driver, triple Le Mans winner with Audi, has already driven for Caterham this season during the Belgian Grand Prix, replacing Kamui Kobayashi. « Caterham wants me to race in Abu Dhabi, but I’m not sure about accepting the offer, » he stated, as reported by Autosport. Lotterer has already refused to race for Caterham in Monza, on the grounds that he would have had to give up his seat to third driver Roberto Merhi for FP1.

In the other seat, while the Alice Powell track seems, at least for the race, to face difficulties related to the Super License, uncertainty persists. Kamui Kobayashi was the second official driver of the team before it went into administration. Nothing suggests that the Japanese driver could not be back in the CT05 seat at Yas Marina.
