Mallya: The future of Force India is secured
Vijay Mallya responded to rumors about the financial state of the Force India team and was reassuring about the future of the Silverstone-based team for the coming years.

Vijay Mallya, the boss of the Sahara Force India team, believes there is no need for concern regarding the future of his Formula 1 team.
Following the financial difficulties encountered by Caterham and Marussia, the attention is now turned towards “the three remaining small teams”: Sauber, Lotus, and Force India. But the Indian boss asserts, quoted by Autosport, that there is no financial problem for his team: « Every business has current assets and liabilities. That’s how the economy works as a whole, on a small or large scale. Are we solvent? Yes, of course. Force India’s finances have been subject to speculation for a long time. When our Sahara group partners encountered problems, there was even more speculation, but we are here and we are strong on track. »
He believes that rumors about the health status of the teams are not a good thing for F1 and the entities involved: « All these speculations must stop, I think. It’s not good for anyone, neither the sport nor the teams. The main point is that we are doing well. Our new car is almost ready – and we are here and we will race. »
The boss of the team based in Silverstone confirmed expecting help from Bernie Ecclestone and the main shareholder of F1, CVC: « I only know what he told me in the presence of the other four: he said he was going to meet Donald [MacKenzie, one of the CVC officials]. If I don’t hear from him by the end of the week, I’ll send him a reminder. »
