The agreement between Fernando Alonso and McLaren F1 is reportedly finalized
The announcement of Fernando Alonso's arrival at McLaren F1 is expected to be made before the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix, allowing the team time to choose his teammate.

The end-of-season saga may come to an end in the coming days. At least that’s what Autosport believes, claiming that Fernando Alonso is about to sign with McLaren.
The Spaniard, coveted by the British team since the announcement of Honda’s return in 2015, is reportedly on the verge of confirming that he will race next season for the team with which he finished 3rd in the championship in 2007.
In reality, the announcement would be hindered by the choice of his teammate between Jenson Button, who had a very good race in Brazil, and Kevin Magnussen, who seemed to be the favorite for his own succession.
The team hesitates, however, considering that the performances of the two men are close this season. While Jenson Button is the most experienced driver on the grid and knows Woking well, having worked there since 2010, Kevin Magnussen has youth and pace, deemed interesting for the future, on his side.
Alonso has already suggested that he would prefer Button to stay in F1 in 2015, likely to allow the team and its engine supplier to develop more quickly thanks to a very experienced duo. However, the signing of the Spaniard would come at a high price, and pairing him with another world champion would represent a significant expense. Kevin Magnussen would then appear as a slightly riskier but less costly choice. Meetings are expected to take place in the coming days in Woking to make a decision.
The arrival of Fernando Alonso at McLaren-Honda is expected to be officially announced before the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix, and it should, in turn, trigger another announcement: the arrival of Sebastian Vettel at Ferrari. The Scuderia reportedly agreed with the Spanish double world champion not to announce the recruitment of the German until his future was secured.
