Brazil GP: Vettel hoped to finish 4th ahead of the McLarens
Sebastian Vettel hoped to be able to get ahead of the McLarens in the race and was therefore disappointed to finish behind Button. Daniel Ricciardo, on the other hand, suffered a suspension failure forcing him to retire.

Sebastian Vettel had a difficult start in Brazil, getting overtaken by several cars, but he recovered well afterwards and managed to climb up the ranks, eventually crossing the finish line in 5th position.
« I got off to a good start but I had nowhere to go. At turn 4, perhaps I didn’t have good memories [of being hit by Bruno Senna’s Williams] from two years ago. I left too much space and lost two positions because I couldn’t get the power. I had to fight hard to get them back, » Vettel said, as quoted by GPUpdate.
But the reigning four-time world champion is disappointed not to have managed to overtake Button’s McLaren, which finished 4th ahead of him: « At the start of the race, I was hoping for more against the McLarens, but we weren’t that competitive today. I was hoping for one more position, but 5th is sufficient. »
On the other Red Bull front, things did not go as well for Daniel Ricciardo, who saw his series of 15 consecutive point finishes come to an end due to a suspension break: « From yesterday afternoon, the weekend went badly. I felt some vibrations when I was braking. You think it might be related to the tires, so you don’t pay too much attention, but when I braked at turn 1, I went straight. I returned to the pits and the team told me it was a suspension break. It was unfortunate. »
