The eighteenth qualifying session of the 2014 Formula 1 season will take place at the Interlagos circuit in Brazil. While the track layout hasn’t changed—except for the design of its pit lane, which is safer at its entrance and exit—the asphalt is new and is giving the teams a hard time, especially concerning tire wear.
The Mercedes dominated all three free practice sessions, each time with Nico Rosberg ahead of Lewis Hamilton. However, the Williams have developed an interesting pace. Nonetheless, the situation could be quite different during qualifying, which is expected to take place on a wet track, thus reshuffling the deck.
