Official: The FIA unveils the list of entrants for 2015, including Caterham and Manor F1
The FIA unveiled today the list of teams registered for the 2015 Formula 1 World Championship: the 11 teams from the 2014 season are included, including Caterham and Marussia, even though the latter, which would take its original name of Manor, still needs to be confirmed.
The FIA has published the list of teams entered for the 2015 F1 World Championship. Here it is:
- Infiniti Red Bull
- Mercedes AMG Petronas F1 Team
- Scuderia Ferrari
- Lotus F1 Team
- McLaren Honda
- Sahara Force India F1 Team
- Sauber F1 Team
- Scuderia Toro Rosso
- Williams Martini Racing
- Manor F1 Team*
- CF1 Caterham F1 Team
*Subject to confirmation.
The first piece of information is, of course, that despite the bankruptcy proceedings for Caterham and Marussia, both teams are part of this list. It should be noted, however, that the list is provisional and therefore subject to confirmation at a later date. Indeed, if Caterham, Marussia, and/or other teams were to disappear, they would not be able to participate next season.
The other information is that Marussia would take the original name of the structure that entered F1 following the tender for the 2010 season, Manor. This would not change anything, particularly regarding the income received by the structure, as Manor Grand Prix Racing LTD is indeed the entity that has registered, for the past 5 seasons, the Virgin and Marussia cars.
The third piece of information is that the list provided by the FIA is a list that includes two cars per team.
