Ferrari Team Impressed by Esteban Ocon

Esteban Ocon, only 18 years old, had the opportunity to test a 2010 Ferrari F10 at Fiorano as a reward for winning the Formula 3 championship. And after impressing Lotus during a two-day test last week, he did the same with Scuderia Ferrari.

« It’s always very exciting for us engineers to be there when a young driver gets behind the wheel of a Ferrari Formula 1 car for the first time, because even though we are used to working with beginners, it’s a real surprise to see someone take to the track showing a level of professionalism like the one demonstrated by Esteban, » said Luca Baldisseri, head of the Ferrari Driver Academy.

Ocon, a member of the Lotus young driver program, expressed his delight with the opportunity and the day spent behind the wheel of the red car: « The track was very enjoyable, very technical and varied, and the car provided a lot of excitement with all its power and the way it immediately responds to the driver’s input. I would like to thank all the mechanics and the team that supported me, and I hope that this day will prove useful for my future as a race car driver. »
