« At the request of Jules Bianchi’s family, and in agreement with the Mie General Medical Center in Yokkaichi, the Marussia F1 team is able to provide the following information regarding Jules’ condition:

The last nine days have been extremely difficult for Jules and his family. Following the accident in Suzuka, many medical challenges had to be overcome, and the situation remains difficult due to the diffuse axonal injuries to the brain suffered by Jules.

Jules remains in a critical but stable condition in the intensive care unit at the Medical Center in Yokkaichi. The Bianchi family continues to be comforted by the thoughts and prayers of Jules’ many fans and the motorsport community. In particular, the numerous demonstrations of support and affection during the Russian Grand Prix in Sochi were a great comfort to Jules’ parents, relatives, and friends present at the hospital.

The family will provide medical updates when appropriate.

Philippe Bianchi, the father of the French driver, spoke to Gazzetta dello Sport, stating that the situation was desperate.
