Sunday: Hamilton victorious and Rosberg disappointed celebrate Mercedes’ first title
Mercedes AMG F1 wins the Constructors' World Championship title thanks to its new double, and despite two different races, Lewis Hamilton and Nico Rosberg are pleased about it.

Lewis Hamilton (no. 44) – Victory
Fourth consecutive victory for the Briton who above all wants to congratulate his team: « It was a good day and a wonderful weekend. First, I am proud to have contributed to the work of this great team in obtaining the first World Constructors’ Championship title, which is a great achievement. Huge congratulations to the guys in the UK and Germany, it’s historic for us. »
Regarding the race, it was centered on tire management in the absence of competition from Nico Rosberg: « Today, I had to manage the tires a lot throughout the race; fuel management wasn’t bad. The car was great and I didn’t have to push too hard. In the end, when Nico was behind, I had to match his lap times, which I did. »
Nico Rosberg (No. 6) – 2nd
« We are World Champions! I am so happy for the team and the entire Mercedes-Benz family, today we made history. Thanks to everyone for their efforts, and thanks to the husbands and wives who sent us their partners to make this possible. I well remember the tough times we had in this team. So, now, it’s great to be so dominant. »
The German lost the race at the first corner when he locked up his tires and made a flat spot: « It was a mistake. I braked too late, that’s all. [It wasn’t] necessary. It was my line and I should have been in the lead. It was really achievable, and I just screwed up. It’s simple. I braked too late and too hard. I’m very disappointed about that. After that, my tires were flat-sided, so I couldn’t see where I was going, and I had to pit. I thought it was the end of the day, but then, still, I’m happy to have managed to climb back up to 2nd place. »
Even if he is satisfied with the result, he thinks he could have been more aggressive: « Looking back, I could have attacked even more during the race. It’s always easy to know afterward. In the end, the tires were fine. It’s a shame but difficult to understand during the race. »
