European Grand Prix in Azerbaijan: First Image of the Baku Circuit
While it is set to make its appearance on the Formula 1 calendar in 2016, the European Grand Prix in Baku, Azerbaijan, will be held on a 6 km long and very fast urban circuit.

The official announcement of the organization of a Grand Prix in Baku in 2016 took place in July. It will make its appearance in Formula 1 during the 2016 season, under the name “Grand Prix of Europe,” which has not been used in F1 since the Valencia circuit was removed from the calendar after the 2012 season.
A conference was held today in Azerbaijan attended by Bernie Ecclestone, the president of FOM and responsible for negotiations with GP promoters.
The opportunity for Baku to present the layout that will traverse the streets of the Azerbaijani capital. The first image of the circuit reveals an unusual shape and promises to be ultra-fast with a length of approximately 6 km, featuring a main straight that is about 1.5 km long.
It is the company KHP Consulting, a marketing communication agency that has been working in Formula 1 for over 25 years, which posted the photos of this press conference on its Twitter account.
