Sunday: Bottas on the podium and Massa out of the points at Williams
Valtteri Bottas delivered an excellent race in Belgium, executing impressive overtakes to climb onto the podium behind Ricciardo and Rosberg. The race for the other Williams driver, Felipe Massa, was more complicated due to debris from Hamilton's exploded tire being picked up by the Brazilian's FW36, which caused a loss of performance.

Valtteri Bottas (#77) – 3rd
The Finn is satisfied with his Belgian race and being able to secure a new podium in F1: « Our pace was solid today and much better than in qualifying, with some great battles with the Ferraris and Red Bulls, and I think third place was probably the right result. I was stuck behind slower cars at the beginning of the race, which made my first stint complicated, but I managed to overtake those cars when necessary, and it was important for my race. »
Bottas was aiming for a podium before the race and achieved it, which pleases him greatly: « We approached this race aiming for the podium, and it’s a real satisfaction to achieve it after a weekend with ups and downs and complicated weather. Felipe wasn’t lucky today with the debris. »
Felipe Massa (No. 19) – 13th
On the other side of the Williams F1 garage, things didn’t go as well for Felipe Massa, who was affected by debris following Lewis Hamilton’s puncture, which heavily impacted his race: « Unfortunately, at the start of the race, I picked up debris from Hamilton’s car that got stuck in my floorboard, and it made the car very slow, losing about two seconds per lap. They only came off after my second stop, and then I was almost three seconds faster and the fastest on track, but by then, it was too late for me to do anything. I’m obviously disappointed that something like this impacted my race, and I hope that luck will turn at Monza. »
