Bottas: « Williams can no longer make the same mistakes »
For his second year in F1, Valtteri Bottas is having a solid start to the season. But for the rest of the year 2014, the Finnish driver does not want to see Williams repeat the same mistakes as at the beginning of the season.

This year Williams is having a much better season than last year; the best result for the team based in Grove is a 5th place achieved at the Australian GP and the Spanish GP. However, Williams was often fighting for a podium place, but so far the British team’s attempts to secure a podium have been in vain.
As a reminder, Bottas could have finished 2nd at the Australian GP if he hadn’t been a victim of a puncture. At the Bahrain Grand Prix, tire degradation issues prevented him from reaching the podium, just like his teammate Felipe Massa.
In China, Massa’s race was ruined by a poorly fixed wheel during his first pit stop, while the Brazilian driver could have won the Canadian GP. Bottas had an ERS issue and braking problems: « Each race is different, we try not to repeat the same mistakes » when Autosport asked him why Williams continues to have disappointing results.
« During the Canadian Grand Prix, the post-race conclusion was that we could have done a much better job at the end. We just encountered too many problems with the ERS, » added the Finn.
Bottas believes that the 5th place at the Spanish GP should be a foundation for Williams’ season going forward. This result should give hope to the English team: « The initial impressions of the track give us the impression that it is an average track, it will not be the best but not the worst either. In Barcelona, we had a good race, yet it was not the best race to express ourselves. We need to aim for the highest points ».
Massa also spoke in Autosport: « We had a great opportunity to win the Canadian GP, we have a very good car, so I hope we can be competitive again ».
