Daniel Ricciardo will remain with Red Bull Racing in 2015
Arriving as the second-in-command at Red Bull this year, Daniel Ricciardo has just been confirmed within the Austrian team for the upcoming 2015 Formula 1 season.

Arriving in the off-season as the second driver, Daniel Ricciardo quickly managed to convince Red Bull’s management to trust him, while he could have been let go if he did not meet the expectations of the Milton Keynes leadership. At the start of the season, the Australian delivered 5 solid races, which was enough to confirm his potential and make his managers want to keep him.
« We have always believed in stability and continuity. Daniel has a long-term contract with the team, it is very unlikely that he will leave next year – unless of course Ferrari tries to hire him as well [referring to rumors of Ferrari’s interest in Adrian Newey], » said Christian Horner.
The director of the Red Bull Racing team also commented on the qualities of the Australian: « He has done an excellent job this year and is very calm in the car. He continues to impress us with his speed and approach. He enjoys what he does, and you never see him not smiling. It’s a pleasure to have him in the team, and both [Ricciardo and Vettel] work very well together. I can only speak highly of what Daniel has achieved in the first five races. »
And even if Jean-Eric Vergne’s former teammate finished ahead of his four-time world champion teammate three times – in Australia, Bahrain, and Spain – the two drivers of the Austrian team maintain excellent relations, which makes things easier compared to the Vettel/Webber duo: « It’s a walk in the park compared to previous seasons. But that’s part of the challenge of being a team director, » concludes Horner.
