Despite the end of the season and the absence of Formula 1 races until March, Max Verstappen does not neglect motor racing. On December 19, the Dutch driver drove a Ferrari 296 GT3 during an outing with Verstappen.com Racing, one of his flagship projects.

The creation of his own stable

In the long run, Max Verstappen would like to create his own stable through his Verstappen.com Racing project, currently at the beginning of development.

« Thanks to Verstappen.com Racing, we sponsor and support the racing activities of various people close to me through consultations and advice », explained the Red Bull driver in an interview on his website.

« Everything started with the sim races of Team Redline. Many people still think that simulator racing is not professional, but it’s a serious sport, and I invest many hours to prepare myself and beat everyone. The goal is to ultimately create our own racing team, starting with the GT3 class and seeing which direction the wind blows. »

Through the development of this stable, Max Verstappen wants to support young drivers to help them make a career in motor racing. The beginning of his project will focus on GT3 competition. « I want to help boys in whom I see potential by creating my own GT3 team », explained the Dutchman.

« I think that the GT3 is a beautiful class, where one can participate in major endurance races. A junior class for Formula cars does not please me. Formula 3, Formula 2… we spend too little time in the car and it costs too much money. In the GT3 category, we participate in more races, but there is also a different atmosphere. It’s more relaxed. »

Implementation by 2025

Despite a tricky and complicated schedule for all Formula 1 drivers, Max Verstappen hopes to engage his team by 2025. « The next step is our own GT3 team », analysed the Red Bull driver. « Aiming for 2024 is too tight, but I want to get it off the ground as soon as possible. A GT3 team in 2025 should be achievable with two cars. We are very busy with this at the moment. The planning phase is over, we are already taking steps and acting. »

As a motorsport enthusiast, Max Verstappen does not rule out participating in the 24 Hours of Le Mans in a future edition.
