Saturday: Grosjean and Lotus are thinking about the podium

Romain Grosjean continues to satisfy his team as he secured the 3rd position on the starting grid. It was more challenging for his teammate Kimi Räikkönen, who suffered from back pain and qualified in 13th place. Nonetheless, with the French driver's performance, hopes for a podium finish are possible.

Romain Grosjean – 2nd and 3rd

« After all the problems we had yesterday, the team did a fantastic job getting the car to work properly and finding the right settings despite only a few laps completed. The car behaved well all day, well enough for us to take the risk in Q1 of not running on soft tires. It was a risky strategy that still paid off, and I think with a bit more luck in the final lap we could have gained some time. Sebastian seems to have a fairly clear advantage, but we have new tires and the podium will be the goal tomorrow. »

Kimi Räikkönen – 12th and 13th

Unfortunately today was not a good session partly because of my back problem which prevents me from driving properly. Therefore, we haven’t been able to do what we wanted during the 3rd free practice session. It’s not the first time I’ve driven with such a problem and it probably won’t be the last time either, but I will be on the grid tomorrow and we will try to do our best.
