Maldonado accuses Sutil following their collision
At the conclusion of the Belgian Grand Prix, Pastor Maldonado believed that Adrian Sutil was to blame for his accident with Paul di Resta in the final chicane of the circuit.

Penalized for his collision with Paul di Resta on the 26th lap of the Belgian Grand Prix, Pastor Maldonado positions himself as a victim and blames Adrian Sutil on the second Force India. « I was hit by Adrian and lost control. I am disappointed by the penalty and also disappointed for Paul, » explains the Venezuelan driver after the race.
« I went wide [in the corner] because Gutiérrez pushed me. I was trying to get back on the right path when Sutil cut my line by coming from the outside to the inside midway through the corner and hit my front wing. A part of the wing went under the car and I lost front traction, so there was nothing I could do about di Resta. This corner is very difficult. He [Sutil] cut me off very aggressively and I didn’t defend myself, I did nothing. I had no control when I hit di Resta. »
Following this incident, the Williams driver received a 10-second stop and go from the FIA stewards. A decision that the Venezuelan obviously does not understand in light of his reading of the events: “From my point of view, the penalty is not clear. I think the incident was caused by Sutil and I bear the sanction. Whether it’s a stop and go or a drive-through, it’s still a penalty,” explained Maldonado.
