Saturday: Maldonado tries to do his best, Bottas succeeds
While Pastor Maldonado fails in Q1 but remains positive for the race, Valtteri Bottas will start from the fifteenth position after achieving his best lap of the entire weekend in Q2.

Valtteri Bottas – 15th and 15th:
« I encountered a bit of traffic in Q1 so I was rather lucky to make it into Q2 given that one or two tenths can make the difference. I managed to put together a good lap in Q2, the best I’ve done so far this weekend, so I’m satisfied with that. I feel like I got everything I could out of the car today but, tomorrow, the race will be long in these conditions, so I’ll be ready to meet the challenge from the start. »
Pastor Maldonado – 17th and 17th:
« I have an extra set of tires, which is positive for tomorrow, and we are all working together as a team to see what we can do in the race. Qualifying 17th is a bit disappointing, but we are realistic in our goals at the moment. We are trying to do our best on the track as well as at the factory, and we are working to be more competitive in qualifying soon. »
