Friday: Red Bull readies its arsenal

Red Bull begins its weekend wisely by trying to gather as much data as possible for the future, mainly on the tire side, which will be key to securing a good result on Sunday.

Mark Webber – 3rd and 5th:

« It was a good day and we covered many kilometers. There are clearly some fast cars and we had seen that in Malaysia before it rained during qualifying. We collected a lot of information but it’s still too early to have a precise idea about the tires. I think we have a bit of work to do but the car doesn’t seem too bad. We just need to understand the tires better. It’s nice to have a stable weekend weather-wise, which is unusual in Shanghai. »

Sebastian Vettel – 4th and 10th:

« Today has been a challenging day for us. I struggled a bit in the afternoon and the gap with the guys in front is a bit larger than I would like. There are two or three things we need to work on, and then we should be in better shape tomorrow. I think we know what we need to do. It seems that the soft tires will be the ones used in qualifying, but we probably won’t see them much in the race. »
