Friday: Hülkenberg approves Sauber’s innovations
Nico Hülkenberg was not satisfied with the performance of his Sauber after the first two Grand Prix of the season. In China, the Swiss team brought new parts, including a new rear wing that seems to be moving in the right direction. Enough to approach the rest of the weekend with optimism.

Nico Hülkenberg – 14th and 17th:
« I think overall it hasn’t been a bad day. We have many things to try and we’ve done what we wanted. It’s quite interesting with the tires and it will be a challenge on Sunday with the softs. The new rear wing we have here is a step forward and the car clearly behaves better with it. How much I quantify this progress is hard to say so we need to look at the data and wait for tomorrow. Overall it’s a positive day but there is still work ahead of us. »
Esteban Gutierrez – 18th and 13th:
« In general, the sessions have been positive and have helped us understand our problems and move forward. It’s something that keeps us on the right track. I think there is still room for improvement. Unfortunately, at the end of the second session, we had an oil leak, which is obviously not what you want. However, it’s better that it happens now than later during the weekend, so hopefully, we’ll be fine from now on. »
