Lotus will present the E21 on Monday, January 28
The Lotus F1 team will be the first to reveal its 2013 car, as the British team will present the E21 to the public on January 28. The launch can be followed live on their YouTube channel.
While it was thought that McLaren would be the first team to unveil its challenger for 2013 on January 31, the Woking team will ultimately be beaten to the punch by the Lotus F1 team, which announced it would present its car next Monday, January 28.
The black and gold single-seater, which will be driven by Kimi Räikkönen and Romain Grosjean and named E21, will be unveiled at 19:15 local time, or 20:15 French time. The ceremony will take place at Lotus’s factory in Enstone and can be watched live on the team’s YouTube channel.
Following this announcement from Lotus, the Marussia team is now the only team that has not yet announced the presentation date of its car for the 2013 season.
Following the presentation, the E21 will be shipped to Spain to Jerez to take part, like the majority of its rivals, in the first test session of the 2013 Formula 1 season which will be held from February 5th to 8th at the Circuit de Jerez de la Frontera. For the moment, only the Williams team, and probably Marussia as well, will not be participating in these first tests with their 2013 single-seater.
