Isack Hadjar: « It’s the best car in the world! »
After successful FP1, Frenchman Isack Hadjar was coming down from his happiness of having driven one of the most dominant cars in history. He spoke immediately after the session.

Like on a cloud, Isack Hadjar fully enjoyed his second outing in F1 free practice: having gone through AlphaTauri in Mexico, the Frenchman took a seat in the Red Bull and was able to appreciate its performance. Even more so in a session where the fastest lap time is targeted.
« “It’s the best car in the world,” he exclaimed into the microphone of Canal+. « “It was even better than what I experienced in Mexico, even taking into account the altitude,” he added.
Above all, French driver, currently in Formula 2, had the opportunity to perform on track with the medium tires and then the soft ones. And obviously, when performance is added, it’s a whole new world: I was pushing a bit and the car didn’t move an inch. I discovered the car with the medium tires, adds Isack Hadjar.
One second away from the best time
Isack Hadjar finished these FP1 in 17th place and ended 8th out of the ten rookies who replaced the regular drivers during this opening session.
His 1:27.244 placed him just over a second behind the fastest time, which was set by George Russell. Not bad, according to the person involved!
« I saw the gap that separated me from Russell. There was a lot of margin in my driving that I could reach for. But it is still satisfying to have been able to do all of that. »
