Sunday: HRT’s only satisfaction is seeing one car reach the finish line

It's a difficult weekend that concludes for HRT: Narain Karthikeyan attempted a one-stop strategy that didn't pay off due to graining on his front tires, while Pedro de la Rosa was forced to retire due to a stubborn accelerator pedal that made his F112 dangerous.

Narain Karthikeyan – 20th:

« We chose to start the race on the Super Soft tires, and the start was good since I passed a few cars. But maybe it wasn’t the best option because we had some graining on the front tires right from the start, which gave me trouble with understeer. But when we switched to the Softs, the car’s balance was quite good. I think a one-stop strategy was too hard on the front tires, but we had to take the risk. It was a tough weekend, but I will take the positive from it, which is finishing the race after two races where that wasn’t the case, and with the Indian Grand Prix on the horizon. »

Pedro de la Rosa – Retirement:

« We anticipated a tough race, but the start was good. Unfortunately, we encountered a problem with the accelerator pedal from the 5th lap. At first, it was sticking a bit, but as the laps went on, it got worse, so the team decided to pull me out of the race. I think they made the right decision because not only was the car very difficult to control and we were getting slower, but it was also dangerous. After this tough weekend, we need to put this behind us, look forward, and focus on the next race. »
