Sunday: Paul di Resta achieves the best result of his career with Force India
Taking advantage of race circumstances as well as a performant VJM05, Paul di Resta climbed to 4th place in the Singapore Grand Prix, his best performance to date in Formula 1. Less fortunate, his teammate Nico Hülkenberg encountered some problems and finished in 14th position. Very much in form this weekend, the Indian team is determined to close the gap that separates them from a potential podium finish.

Paul di Resta – 4th:
This fourth place is a great team result and my best performance in Formula 1. We qualified well yesterday and ran a good race, taking advantage of the retirements. In the final stint, we definitely showed that we could have a very good pace, and I don’t think the safety car really impacted my race because I was able to restart well each time and hold my position. I was very close to Alonso in the final laps, but I lacked the speed to reach the podium. This result is exactly what we needed for our championship fight, and I want to extend a huge “thank you” to the guys working in the garage who did an amazing job, as always.
Nico Hülkenberg – 14th:
« It was quite a tough race for me. The strategy to start on soft tires would have paid off, but I got stuck behind Kimi and Michael from the start and couldn’t really show the true pace of the car. The safety car phases weren’t ideal for me and the second one impacted my race. Many things didn’t really work for me this weekend, but there are many positives to take away, like the pace of the car and Paul’s result. »
