Saturday: Marussia performs well despite setbacks
If this morning's session wasn't easy for Marussia, with Timo Glock going off track and Charles Pic receiving a penalty for tomorrow's race, the MR01 performance is on point, with both drivers praising the progress made by the Russian team.

Timo Glock – 19th and 21st:
« A disappointing start to the day in Free Practice 3 and then in terms of repercussions on qualifying. Not having a real stint this morning cost us a bit, which is a shame since I had a good feeling with the car but not the confidence in the tires. Obviously, the tires are quite a critical point here, especially with the Super Softs and getting them into the right temperature window for the flying lap. It was also difficult with the brakes, which were not good. We had a good start yesterday, and going into the weekend, we seemed quite strong. At least we were only a few tenths behind in qualifying, and now we have to try to give Caterham a hard time tomorrow. Overall, the team has faced the challenges we have encountered well, and also the heat and humidity. I hope we can do better for them tomorrow. »
Charles Pic – 23rd and 22nd:
« Overall, it’s not a bad qualification after positive Free Practice 3 this morning. I lost time in the third sector due to traffic, but apart from that, I’m quite happy. Although I think I adapted well to a difficult circuit to learn, racing here for the first time, there is always room for improvement throughout the weekend to find a better lap. I hope there’s more to come tomorrow and that we can continue our string of strong race performances.
Regarding the penalty imposed by the FIA after Free Practice 3, I saw the information and I would like to say that I completely agree with it. It was an error on my part and I will use this experience wisely.
