Saturday: Satisfactory performances for Mercedes

Michael Schumacher will start from 4th place on the grid tomorrow, and the seven-time world champion is happy with his performance. Nico Rosberg, on the other hand, had a balance issue, and he will start a little further back, but he hopes to climb up the ranks during the race.

Michael Schumacher – 14th and 5th [4th on the grid]:

« I think we can be satisfied with our performance during these qualifications because we were consistent throughout the weekend. Our car suits this circuit better than the previous ones, but we had some issues during the free practice sessions. Our guys at the factory and those present here did a great job resolving them, and I tip my hat to them. Scoring good points should be a realistic goal for tomorrow. Starting in 4th position is also another positive point, as here the even numbers on the grid are probably the best starting positions. »

Nico Rosberg – 6th and 7th [6th on the grid]:

Starting from 6th place here at Monza is a good result after a complicated qualifying session today. I wasn’t happy with the balance of my car in Q3, and even though it started well, I then lost the good balance so I couldn’t improve my time. I’m looking forward to the race and hope to gain some positions.
