Friday: Pic as the figurehead at Marussia

Helped by the rain, Charles Pic finished Free Practice 2 at the top, a first for Marussia. And even if the circumstances were in his favor, the Frenchman is delighted to see his name at the top of the timesheet. Alongside Timo Glock, who was more discreet, the drivers of the Russian team carried out fundamental work on new parts.

Charles Pic – 17th and 1st:

« It’s great to be running again after a long break. We’ve made some new developments here, which we hope will prove to be a new step forward. Today, we planned to test them on the track, but the conditions were frustrating for everyone as the rain didn’t let up much. This is not unusual for Spa, though, so we have to look forward to the next two days which should be dry and where we will have better chances to see the signs of our new components. On the plus side, it’s very nice to end the afternoon session at the top of the timesheets. In unusual circumstances, of course, but nice to see. »

Timo Glock – 12th and 6th:

It was so wet today that we could only accomplish a little significant running. We have experience with the Wet tires and some data for our new parts, but that’s about it. We just have to hope the forecasts are right and we can look forward to running on dry in the next two days, as it’s very important for our new developments. But it’s good to be back on track after the summer break.
