Friday: Force India satisfied with their morning work

Blocked like everyone else by the rain in the afternoon, Force India is content to have completed the planned work in the morning, especially in light of the conditions encountered during previous race Fridays. Jules Bianchi participated in this effort, replaced in the afternoon by Nico Hülkenberg, while Paul di Resta was able to drive extensively on the dry track in the morning.

Paul di Resta – 14th and 7th:

« I think the most important thing today is that we managed to get good information on the development parts – which hasn’t been easy in the last races with the weather. Even though it rained again this afternoon, we got a lot of work done before the rain and we have a lot of data for the weekend. I was able to run with both types of tires today, but not on long stints because of the rain. »

Nico Hülkenberg – 13th [in Free Practice 2]:

« An overall quite positive day, but like everyone, we have no reference for the long stints. Apart from that, I felt comfortable in this session and we completed the majority of our program regarding the settings. Towards the end, I went out on Intermediate tires to get a feel for wet conditions, but the track was drying very quickly, so I couldn’t learn much.

Jules Bianchi – 18th [in Free Practice 1]:

A lot of laps for me today, which was useful, and I’m getting more and more used to the car. I started by doing a lot of short stints so the team could evaluate some elements to test, then I did a few longer stints towards the end. It was difficult to find the limit and I wasn’t totally comfortable in the car today, so I think there’s still time to gain. It’s always valuable to have time in the car during a race weekend, I hope the team can learn a lot from this data.
