Saturday: Drivers at their maximum but not the car at Caterham
Caterham believes that the true potential of its CT01 has not yet been unlocked after the introduction of new parts at Silverstone. In the meantime and waiting for more favorable conditions, Kovalainen thinks he delivered a perfect lap with the equipment available, while Vitaly Petrov encountered traffic.

Heikki Kovalainen – 18th and 19th [16th on the grid]:
« In terms of where we are right now, it was nothing less than a perfect run. I made no mistakes, hit all my apexes, and had a clean lap, so I’m satisfied with what we’ve done with the car. Closing the gap with the cars ahead is obviously our goal, and I think we’re still figuring out how to unlock the full potential of the package we brought to Silverstone. Taking it as a whole, there are many elements we need to set in motion to really utilize this potential, and I think we need more running in dry conditions to properly understand what it will be. We will continue to work in this direction, and perhaps we will see more of its value tomorrow since it’s supposed to be sunny, and in Hungary where the warmer conditions will suit us better than the cold and rain we’ve had in Germany and at Silverstone. »
Vitaly Petrov – 19th and 20th [18th on the grid]:
« It was a bit of a difficult session after the rain at the end of Free Practice 3 changed the track conditions. We had trouble heating the front tires and that, combined with traffic, meant I couldn’t push as much this morning. Despite everything, we have made progress throughout the weekend, doing a good job of pushing ourselves in the right direction, and tomorrow, I think we can do well. We have decent race pace and I think we will achieve a good result as we have shown all season. »
