WhatsApp becomes a partner of Mercedes
Mercedes secures a new major partner. The contract spans over several years.

WhatsApp becomes the new partner of Mercedes-AMG PETRONAS F1. The partnership was officially announced last night on the team’s social media platforms. It is a multi-year contract. Discussions had already been initiated several months ago between the two parties.
A new communication system
WhatsApp is one of the main major partners. Since September, a collaboration had been established. The German team offered a channel with its fans on the messaging platform. Behind-the-scenes photos and videos were posted there. WhatsApp plays a crucial role in communication for everything we do at Mercedes-AMG PETRONAS F1, said Toto Wolff in a Mercedes AMG F1 statement. From coordinating our operations to sharing ideas, as well as providing mutual support throughout each season, it brings the team closer together. It also helps to accelerate the speed of communication and decision-making within the organization. As two innovative and forward-thinking brands, I cannot imagine a more natural partnership. We look forward to working with WhatsApp and bringing the breadth of our stories to life in an innovative and original way.
On the side of the two billion user company, this partnership will bring new visibility and potentially attract new users through channels open to the general public. We were impressed by the way the Mercedes-AMG PETRONAS F1 team relies on WhatsApp to run their organization, said WhatsApp’s executive, Will Cathcart. The leadership and values they have demonstrated in advancing motorsports for years are inspiring. I am proud that we will work together to show how WhatsApp brings their team and fans closer to the action.
