Sunday: disappointment prevails in the Toro Rosso camp
Starting respectively in 17th and 18th place on the starting grid, Daniel Ricciardo and Jean-Eric Vergne leave Valencia's street circuit empty-handed. The Frenchman had to retire on the 26th lap, while his Australian teammate finished the race in 12th place. A disappointing result that concludes a complicated weekend for the small Italian team.

Daniel Ricciardo – 12th:
« For me, this race result is disappointing because I think I was driving well and the team deserved better. Apart from this final position, I am happy with the race, with a good start that allowed me to overtake several cars. The first stint was quite tricky with contacts with other competitors. But the second one was rather good. Then, the appearance of the safety car did not work in our favor.
After my second pit stop, Vitaly Petrov was in front of me and was defending his position well. So we made contact because I think he was too aggressive, which definitely cost me a place in the top 10.
In any case, even if there are no points at the finish, there are positive aspects to take away from this race.
Jean-Eric Vergne – Retirement:
It’s a great shame for me not to finish this race when my pace was good with the Option (Soft) tires, but also because it’s my first retirement of the season.
Regarding the incident with Heikki, I felt I was ahead of him and so I took my chance, but we touched: his front wing hit my rear wheel. There was too much damage to continue, and no way to change the wheel. So my race ended in the pit.
