Massa “good for wasting fuel” for the Italian press

Definitely, Felipe Massa's ordeal seems endless this season. After another anonymous race in China, the Italian press, and more specifically a journalist from La Stampa, once again criticizes the Brazilian's performances.

Stefano Mancini, journalist for the Italian daily La Stampa, who had already criticized Felipe Massa during the first two Grand Prix, highlights the lack of progression of the Brazilian driver during the race in China: « Massa has lost his edge. He is an unnecessary presence, he has not yet scored a single point. He is just good at wasting fuel. »

Indeed, while his teammate Fernando Alonso is third in the championship, with 37 points and already a victory, Massa has yet to score. Stefano Mancini then allows himself to mock the proposal of Ferrari’s director, Luca di Montezemolo, regarding the possibility of introducing a third car per team: « A Ferrari team that wants to introduce a third car is currently only fighting with one driver… »

But if the journalist points out Massa’s poor performances, he does not think that his replacement with Sergio Pérez is a good solution: « He [Pérez] is too young and inexperienced to do anything in Ferrari’s current situation. It is better for him to stay at Sauber until the end of the season. »
