Tsunoda is delighted with a season end with “a very good pace”

After a challenging season, AlphaTauri is bouncing back in the recent Grand Prix races. There are still two races left for the Faenza team to try and surpass Williams.

Nothing had started as planned for the Italian team. With a poor performance, the drivers were unable to consistently score points. The unstable political climate of the team, with the eviction of Nyck de Vries, hadn’t improved things either. Then Daniel Ricciardo, freshly back, got injured. Liam Lawson had taken the wheel before seeing the Australian return in Austin. Four drivers this season and many hardships. However, the resurgence of performance from AlphaTauri in the past few Grand Prix is impressive, and the drivers are keeping up with the pace.

Yuki Tsunoda happy

The young Japanese is really in tune at the end of the season. Despite Daniel Ricciardo’s impressive comeback, Yuki Tsunoda has nothing to be ashamed of compared to the Australian and is even a driving force in AlphaTauri’s positive development.

Until now, we have been scoring points in three consecutive races. So, a very good pace. The results speak for themselves. We have certainly made a big step, especially with the improvements we made in Austin. Before Austin, we were not scoring enough points. Now, we have scored in three consecutive races. That says it all,” Tsunoda explained.

Furthermore, Yuki Tsunoda feels better in the car, a positive sign that allows him to fully explore his race car. Inside the car, I feel good. Obviously, I feel better, I feel more balanced.

He has 13 points this season, with two races remaining.

Surpassing Williams, a utopia?

The showdown of this end of the season is definitely between Williams and AlphaTauri. While the British team has a 7-point advantage, nothing is set in stone yet. The momentum has shifted and it’s on AlphaTauri’s side now. Ricciardo’s successful return, Tsunoda’s speed, and the current performance of the Italian team could very well give Williams a run for their money. Tsunoda is confident about this battle and promises to fight until the end.

« We need to continue like this for the remaining races. Now, we are closer to P7 in the constructor’s championship. I think it’s possible, and we will do our best. »

Las Vegas and Abu Dhabi will determine the winner between these two teams. The positions are crucial for these small teams. One more position in the constructors’ standings can generate much more revenue and attract other sponsors, hence the very important stakes of this end of the season for Williams and AlphaTauri.
