Isofoton partners with Mercedes
Mercedes took advantage of the official launch of its W03 at the Barcelona circuit to announce the signing of an agreement with a new sponsor, Isofoton, a Spanish specialist in solar panels.

The star team thus seeks to highlight the environmental significance of this agreement. Ross Brawn, its team principal, states: “We are delighted to confirm our new partnership with Isofoton and to welcome them to Mercedes AMG Petronas. Formula One is often the breeding ground for new technologies, both in the automotive industry and on a larger scale, and we are always pleased to welcome companies that share our innovative approach and appeal for groundbreaking technologies. Isofoton, a leader in solar energy solutions, is a perfect fit at a time when the Formula 1 community, including Mercedes AMG Petronas, is working to make our sport more efficient from an environmental standpoint and socially meaningful.”
This awareness of respecting the environment is part of the change in engine technology that was imposed for 2014, with the shift from the naturally aspirated V8 to the turbo V6. It is important to remember that the title sponsor of the Anglo-German team, Petronas, is the Malaysian oil company. The media exposure of this new sponsor will thus be much less as it is limited to the visor of the helmets of Michael Schumacher and Nico Rosberg. Its logo will be just next to that of… Petronas.
