Mateschitz donates $92 million to a research university
Dietrich Mateschitz, owner of the firm Red Bull and the team of the same name, made a donation of over 92 million dollars to an Austrian research university.

The Austrian daily Salzburg 24 reported that the 67-year-old billionaire, owner of the energy drink company Red Bull and the two Formula 1 teams Red Bull Racing and Toro Rosso, made a significant donation to the Paracelsus University Medical Research Center in Austria.
Mateschitz reportedly wanted this money to be used for research into incurable diseases and paralysis. In fact, this university was founded in 2002 with the help of the Austrian magnate.
The university official emphasized that this donation was the third-largest amount ever given to a university by a private individual.
He adds: “We are very grateful and also aware of the great responsibility that comes with managing such a sum.”
Mateschitz reportedly justified his choice by speaking to a Spanish newspaper: « It’s a very worthy project, and I want to help them »
