Ricciardo will have to be “more aggressive” in 2012
For what will be his first season in F1, Daniel Ricciardo knows that he still has a lot to learn. He thinks that he needs to be more aggressive on the track.

Daniel Ricciardo will participate in 2012 in his first full season in Formula 1 with the Scuderia Toro Rosso team. The Australian driver, a member of the Red Bull junior driver program, has already taken part in 11 Formula 1 Grand Prix races in 2011 with the HRT team.
Ricciardo thinks he has shown that he is fast enough to be in Formula 1, and with his promotion to Toro Rosso, he knows he will need to continue improving and give it his all to maintain his place within the Italian team and possibly move to Red Bull Racing.
«I know I was successful (at being fast in F1 in 2011) but it’s probably not consistent enough and in Formula 1 now you always have to be at your best, » Ricciardo told the Australian Associated Press.
Ricciardo believes that a key area he will need to work on for 2012 is his aggressiveness, in the good sense, on track. Although he thinks that it will come gradually as he progresses in F1.
«I think my starts are good, my reaction off the line is good. But several times this year I’ve had a good start and passed the car in front of me, but maybe I didn’t go far enough before the first corner or I stayed on the inside line, which is the safest. »
I probably need to be a bit more aggressive, which will come with experience at this level.
Daniel Ricciardo will race alongside Jean-Eric Vergne in 2012 at Toro Rosso. The two men know each other well, having raced together several times in the lower categories, and Ricciardo believes he can learn from his teammate and partner in the Red Bull junior driver program.
He has potential and he is fast. We drive in a fairly similar way, but he probably has what I lack in terms of aggressiveness. So maybe I could learn from him, because that was his driving style in the lower categories, added the Perth native.
