Lando Norris is under investigation
Lando Norris is under investigation for not respecting the maximum time during the Sprint Shoutout. The McLaren driver is supposed to start from the first position after beating Max Verstappen by 61 milliseconds.
Update: No penalty has been given to the McLaren driver.

At 1 pm, which is 6 pm in France, Lando Norris is summoned to the stewards’ office to discuss an infringement that the British driver may have committed. The FIA document states the following: « Exceeding the time limit between the two safety car lines during qualifying. In summary, Lando Norris was allegedly going too slowly between the pit straight and the exit of the third corner. Since Monza, it has been required of the drivers this year to complete their preparation laps in a sufficiently high time to ensure that traffic jams and potential excessive slowdowns do not occur.
It is not clear whether this excessive slowness occurred in the pit lane or on the track. In any case, there is little chance that Lando Norris will be demoted on the grid for the sprint race. Most investigations regarding this issue do not result in a penalty as the stewards believe that the drivers who slowed down did so to clear the track for the drivers behind them.
A penalty on the grid would be a real blow for the McLaren driver. Starting in first place and having a car displaying a high level of competitiveness, Norris has the resources to win for the first time in Formula 1.
Yuki Tsunoda is also called to appear at the commissioners’ office for the same reason.
