Felipe Massa has nothing more to gain this season, unlike Fernando Alonso, and the Brazilian driver has stated that he is ready to let his teammate pass if Scuderia Ferrari asks him to.

The issue of team orders at Hockenheim between Alonso and Massa last season caused a stir and resulted in the return of team orders in Formula 1. After a difficult 2011 season, Massa has almost nothing left to hope for this weekend, unlike Fernando Alonso who can still aim for a runner-up spot in the world championship behind Sebastian Vettel.

The Scuderia Ferrari could therefore be tempted to favor its Iberian driver by asking Massa to step aside if the need arises. The Paulista driver stated that he fully understood the situation and that he was ready to obey any potential race orders tomorrow during the Brazilian Grand Prix.

«If a situation like that (team orders) occurs, I would be professional and I would obey,» Massa told the Brazilian newspaper Folha de S.Paulo.

In another Brazilian publication, the Ferrari driver reflected on his season. He attempted to rate his performances in 2011, and the score is not very high.

« For me, the score is low. You can consider any number, maybe a little over five. But it’s low anyway, » said Massa quoted by Globo.
