Liuzzi delighted to drive again in Abu Dhabi

Vitantonio Liuzzi had given up his seat to Narain Karthikeyan in India, but it was only for a single race since the Italian driver will be back in his HRT in Abu Dhabi next weekend. And he is eager to drive on the Yas Marina Circuit even though he knows that a lot of work will be needed to properly adapt the car to the track.

Narain Karthikeyan was able to race in his home Grand Prix in India last weekend with HRT. The Indian driver replaced Vitantonio Liuzzi for this race, and despite his fine performance at home, the Italian driver will regain his seat as the main driver in Abu Dhabi for the next race.

« After lending my car to Narain for the Indian Grand Prix, I am really looking forward to getting back into the heat of the action in Abu Dhabi. I am optimistic for this race because in India the car seemed well-suited to the track and our pace was good compared to our rivals, » said Liuzzi.

After a weekend off, Liuzzi is eager to get back behind the wheel of a Formula 1 car, and even more so in Abu Dhabi because it’s a track he loves and has performed well on in the past, although he knows it will be difficult to properly set up his F111.

Abu Dhabi is a special circuit because there are many stops and starts, so we will need to work on the brakes and traction during acceleration. There aren’t many fast corners, and overall, it’s quite a challenging circuit because you have to ride the curbs a lot.

« It’s a circuit that I like and one where I have done well in the past. We are going to face another tough weekend in Abu Dhabi, but I am convinced that we will fight, » added the Italian veteran.
