Friday: the LRGP drivers have the potential to do better

Even though Bruno Senna and Vitaly Petrov had to deal with a lot of dust today during the first practice sessions of the Indian Grand Prix, both LRGP drivers remain optimistic for the rest of the weekend. They believe they have a good car that can still be improved for tomorrow's qualifying session and Sunday's race. Optimism is therefore in order for the Lotus Renault team for this first Indian Grand Prix of Formula 1.

Vitaly Petrov – 12th and 11th

The track was really very dusty, which makes it difficult to get the most out of the car, but it’s the same for everyone. We managed to cover the scheduled test program without any issues, which is a good thing. I’m happy with the car and the setup; we need to improve a little more, but we have potential. The track layout is quite tricky. Some corners are blind, so it’s difficult to find the braking point and the moment to turn. But we found a pretty good trajectory and hope we can go faster during Free Practice 3 tomorrow before the qualifying session.

Bruno Senna – 13th and 8th

«I appreciated this day. Both LRGP single-seaters were where they should be, and the circuit seems to suit our car well. We need to develop and fine-tune our settings, but we clearly have potential. The circuit is really interesting, there’s no doubt about it. When I walked around the circuit yesterday, it was clear there would be a lot of dust, and that was the case this morning, but things are improving little by little. The corners are really very fast and they encourage you to push even more to the limit, so I think we should have a good weekend here. Given that the grip will improve and the track will widen, we will be able to attack even more! »
