2012 season compromised for Kubica?
Eric Boullier, the director of the LRGP team, hopes to be able to make a decision on the future of Robert Kubica within the British team in the coming weeks. However, the Pole is not expected to be ready in time, as according to the doctor taking care of him, Kubica still needs "several months" to return.

After the terrible accident that Robert Kubica suffered in February, many people questioned whether the Polish driver could possibly return to Formula 1. Several months have passed now, and the Polish driver seemed on the right track for a comeback and to meet the deadline set by the LRGP team for 2012.
But Riccardo Ceccarelli, who is in charge of Kubica’s rehabilitation, stated that it will take several more months for the Polish driver to be ready, which should delay the date for testing his capabilities and could prevent him from participating in pre-season tests and perhaps even cost him a seat for the 2012 Formula 1 season.
« Our goal is to get him back in F1. But he will still need several months of rehabilitation. Things seemed so bad that many colleagues and specialists had ruled out any return of Robert behind the wheel. But, from a clinical point of view, things are improving little by little, and the hope of seeing him drive again in 2012 is becoming more and more concrete, » Ceccarelli told Tuscan television Lucca.
This new delay could put the Lotus Renault GP team in difficulty, as it still does not know who its drivers will be in 2012 and would like to give Kubica a chance if he is ready in time. But on the other hand, the longer the team waits, the more it may lose the opportunity to sign a good driver for 2012.
