Alguersuari aims for a top 10 in India

Like all the other drivers, Jaime Alguersuari will be discovering the Buddh International Circuit, which is hosting the first Indian Grand Prix in Formula 1 history in two weeks. The Spanish driver hasn't had time to prepare for the race in the simulator, but that doesn't stop him from being ambitious and aiming for some points in this race.

Jaime Alguersuari matched his best result of the season on Sunday at the Korean Grand Prix, finishing in 7th place. This good result, along with a points finish for his teammate Sébastien Buemi, allowed the Toro Rosso team to close in on Sauber in the Constructors’ Championship.

The objective is to continue this momentum in the next race, which will take place in India, on a new circuit for everyone, or almost everyone. While many drivers are preparing or have already prepared for the race by running in the simulator, this is not the case for Jaime Alguersuari. The young Spaniard is eager to be in India to discover this new track.

“I don’t know the track at all, I’ve heard very good feedback and it will be my first time going to India so I’m looking forward to it,” Alguersuari shared in a video published on the Toro Rosso website.

But what Jaime Alguersuari is looking forward to the most is the opportunity to taste the local products, as he is a fan of Indian food. He would also like to have the chance to visit New Delhi a bit since it will be his first time in India.

I’m also looking forward to being there for the food because I’m a big fan of Indian food. I love Indian food and have spent quite some time finding good restaurants in Barcelona sometimes. So I’m looking forward to being there. I would really like to visit the Taj Mahal because it’s something very beautiful, and since we’re in Delhi, I would try to explore the city a bit, probably on Thursday before the race.

The most important thing being the race itself, the Toro Rosso driver will want his team to continue catching up to Sauber to secure 7th place in the constructors’ championship – and why not the 6th place currently held by Force India. The objective for him will therefore be simple: to have a good race and finish in the top 10 to score new points.

And let’s hope that I can have a good race there and score some points, added the Spanish driver.
