Friday: Team Lotus only worked on their engines
Due to not being able to do much driving today in South Korea because of the rain, Team Lotus was still able to work a bit on the adjustments of its engines to prepare for tomorrow's qualifying session and Sunday's race. Like its rivals during the two practice sessions today, it did little driving in the rain as the rest of the weekend is expected to be dry.

Heikki Kovalainen – 23rd and 19th
This morning was a bit of a session for nothing. You could see that everyone had the same idea – run little with the wet tires because we won’t learn anything interesting for the rest of the weekend and to avoid problems that could create unnecessary extra work. This afternoon the track had dried enough for us to at least do a few laps with the intermediates, and we managed to work on the engine mappings, so it’s not too bad. The balance seems good, and I think it will be a completely different story tomorrow as there will be a very busy third free practice session for everyone and we will have to see how the two types of dry compounds perform.
Jarno Trulli – 20th (Free Practice 2)
« To be honest, today was the kind of day we sometimes have in F1. The conditions meant we didn’t have the opportunity to test many things because the track is expected to be dry tomorrow and Sunday, and when the track is as wet as it was this morning, and it was only possible to run with intermediates this afternoon, there isn’t much to learn. We worked a bit on the engine during the second session, and at least we know that the car performs well with intermediate tires, so if the weather turns bad, we’ll at least have some data. But I think the track should be dry tomorrow, which should suit us, and hopefully we can pick up where we left off in Japan. »
Karun Chandhok – 11th (Free Practice 1)
I feel like I’ve had a bit of bad luck with the rain… I think Monza and Suzuka were anomalies because every time I get in the car, heavy rain has to appear, but I just had to deal with it, and that was the case again today! Despite limited track time during free practice 1, I was still able to get a glimpse of the circuit, but I just had to stay on track and make sure not to make mistakes in such conditions. I think our pace was good, and it is certain that the last two Fridays have given me even more confidence in the car compared to a few months ago.
